Quick Meter Test Guide
1. Preparation
- Ensure no water is used during the 30-minute test period
- Locate your water meter (typically in a ground-level box near your property entrance)
Step 2: Testing Process
- Record your current meter reading
- Wait 30 minutes (no water usage)
- Check meter again
If reading hasn’t changed: No pressurised system leak
If reading has changed: Continue to Step 3
Step 3: Isolate the Problem
- Close all toilet inlet valves
- Repeat the 30-minute test
If reading stops changing: Toilet leak identified
If reading continues changing: Professional inspection needed
Calculate Water Loss
- Subtract initial reading from final reading
- Result shows water loss in litres
- Even small changes could indicate significant monthly losses
